Parade Theme:  A Day At the Movies

2023 Crossroads Fest Parade

Grand Marshal: Cookie Kirkland

I am Barbara “Cookie” Kirkland, lifelong Shorewood resident. I have been married to my husband and soulmate Tommy for 47 years. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Jayme (Mike) Kranz and Stephanie (Josh) Henson and five amazing grandchildren, Claire, Gavin, Callie, Camdyn and Caralyn.

I retired from Anthem, Inc. at the end of 2017 with almost 25 years in the medical insurance field, holding various positions.

On April 24, 2023 I retired as Village Trustee, after having the honor and privilege of serving the Village of Shorewood not once, but twice, from 1997 – 2003 and again from 2014 – 2023.

I feel so honored to have been chosen this year’s Grand Marshall and am hoping for a safe and fun-filled festival.

This year's theme ”A Day At the Movies” will certainly bring creativity with the entries! Join us on Sunday, August 6th, 2023, to showcase and promote your business and community involvement.

The route of the parade remains the same this year (please see enclosed parade route) and we will kick off at 12:00 pm (noon).

Trophies:  Closest to Theme, Most Creative, Judges' Choice

If you want to show off your dance group, pass out information from your company, build a float to be judged or just like to wave to the crowd, you will love being in the parade! If participating isn't your thing... grab a lawn chair and watch! Plenty of candy will be handed out!  Parade announcer will be located at the corner of River Road and Oxford!
